What is freedom? Much depends on our definition of 'freedom'. It is all for the good to describe it as freedom of choice but for some people, swamped by too many confusing options and alternatives, the ultimate desire might be to have freedom from choice!
Sometimes, we say to ourselves 'Oh, I'm just doing this - or that.' Or 'I think I'll wander over here now - or there.' And if we ask ourselves whether we have any particular reason for choosing one option over another, we reply 'No. I don't think so. I'm just ambling along.' And maybe we kid ourselves for a reason. There are some ambitions that we can hardly bear to own, some aspirations that it might hurt us too much if we were to fail to fulfil them. But as it just so happens, look where you are now - and look what's in reach.
