.We think to ourselves, 'I'll be happy if I have this.' Sometimes, we think the reverse. 'I'll be happy if I no longer have this - or that - in my life.' We struggle and strive to achieve our aim. More often than not, all that effort simply makes us more miserable. We'd be better off aspiring to less in the first place - or learning, somehow, to put up with what we can't stand. You can choose to do something complicated or to do something simple. If you actually want to feel good, just resolve to stop feeling bad.
People speak about the 'great and the good'. Who are these folk? What makes them so special? Are they really great? Or have they just persuaded themselves - and a few other 'important individuals' to see them in this light? And are they really so good? Or do they occasionally suffer from bouts of minor naughtiness, just like the rest of us? Beware of misleading labels. Don't feel discouraged from doing something that, in its own humble way is good and may turn out, in time, to be great
