Why do we sometimes worry about what others are doing or thinking? Why should we even care? Generally, such concerns arise only when we fear that their actions and choices have the power to cause us harm in some way. At which point, we have to stop and consider something. We can't control others but we can take control over our own reactions and responses. And in doing that, we vastly reduce the power of anyone else to have any negative impact on us at all.Do politicians spend half their time talking hot air and the other half pouring cold water over the views of their opponents? If so, we can fix climate change just by moving all those windbags and drips to places where they can best adjust the local temperature. Well, okay, it is not so simple but nor is it fully far-fetched. If only the opinions of the world's public servants were less sharply polarised, it might have a brighter future!
