There are times when only a Mother's faith Can help us on life's way And inspire in us the confidence We need from day to day. For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith And a Mother's steadfast love Were fashioned by the Angels And sent from God above. Happy Mother's day to all of you my friends ,,, I thought I would start my speech by addressing you as the “new” family of my daughter. But I think it would be inappropriate because now that she is married, you are “the family” for her. Believe me; I don’t have a problem with that. Peace. Harmony. Prosperity. Tolerance. Understanding. Comfort. Quiet. Tranquillity. Security. Compassion. Consideration. Well-being. And where, pray tell, is the fun and excitement in any of that? We like a bit of an edge. A tiny touch of darkness. A little glimpse of something naughty, tense, even terrifying. No conflict? No challenge. It's not that a problem needs to be totally solved. It just needs toning down somehow. The proportions are not right. But they can be made better. And they are about to be.
