The moment we allow ourselves to have plans of any kind, we render ourselves potentially vulnerable. We become a hostage to fortune. Those plans translate into hopes. And if those hopes are dashed, what prevents us from experiencing deep disappointment? Therefore, surely, it is better to be spontaneous. Why invest in the future, when the future must always be uncertain? But if only you can keep a degree of flexibility in your plans now, you look set to be met by a universe that is a compliant as it can be.
