We can't just follow what we feel. Our passions are frequently ill-founded and poorly informed. They may be based on pathetic prejudices and ludicrous desires. We have to be guided by logic, but at the same time we cannot deny our deeper urges and impulses. A balance must be struck. You are understandably tempted, now, to have a dramatic, decisive reaction to an uncomfortable challenge. Don't. Instead, be big. This is your chance to do something truly meaningful and positive. Nights are not very ecological. They tend to be colder than days, so they require additional heating and lighting. In the interests of a better world, they ought to be abolished. Happily, none of us, no matter how influential we may be, can bring about such a change. There are many other factors too that we cannot alter - and, ultimately, this is just as well. There's something in your emotional life that you're not so pleased with; but it's really just the other side of something wonderful. Try to value both sides of the coin.
How much excitement do you want? How many intense emotional experiences do you feel you need? Do you have to get caught up in some great drama? Must you deal with problem after problem? Sorry to ask all these questions, but then questions themselves can be so very destabilising. As soon as we start to ask them, we begin to chip away at whatever is making us feel most stable and secure. You can't just ignore an unsatisfactory situation, but nor do you have to give it your full attention right now Imagine if one day we all wake up to find we are living in an ideal world. A new dawn, a new deal, a new Jerusalem (let's hope it's more peaceful than the old one). Will anything really be different? Well, it will be for you because, whilst your situation remains far from ideal, you are at the start of a big turning point in your emotional journey.
