In some places, they have a saying. 'It is better to keep quiet and let people wonder whether you might be a fool, than to open your mouth and leave them in no doubt.' Whatever we say, whenever and wherever we say it, we lay ourselves open to misinterpretation. Even if we utter the wisest words, the most carefully constructed observations and the most well-intentioned remarks, there will always be someone who can find a way to take offence. For that reason (plus the chance that you may be wrong) be careful'Rules', they say, 'are made to be broken.' Perhaps, in one way, that's true. It is certainly very good reason why we should all avoid making too many rules. If they don't exist, they can't be transgressed and thus far less controversy may arise. But when boundaries are put in place, it is never simply for the purpose of challenging those who might wish to contravene them.
