We may think that we have considered all the implications of a plan or process; this could go wrong, that could prove problematic, but what if we have overlooked something? Perhaps our risk assessment itself requires a risk assessment! And if we make too many allowances for the unknown and the unpredictable, perhaps nothing will ever be able to happen. If we eat too much, we put on weight. If we don't eat enough, we lose it. Ideally, therefore, we carefully measure every mouthful, count every calorie and strive to find the perfect balance. Only, unless you happen to find joy in dietary accountancy, it isn't much fun. They say, 'If you fall ill, look to see which wild herbs are growing spontaneously near your home or along a journey you regularly take.' Such a view of the world requires great faith.
