Children are the gift of god,a creation created by you solely but not in any case they should be ill-treated. But the fact is they are not safe in their own house. Many children are living in stress of emotional insecurity,abuse and assault. They are beaten badly if they do not do as their father has planned.
Children trust only those they know, trust is natural but what if those known smiling become devil at night or abuse the little one when nobody is at home?
About 90% offenders are known to the child and mostly related to the child, including relatives,servant,extended family,friends,priests,doctors regular visitors-anybody who is in position to take advantage of innocence of child. A study by RAHI among 600 Delhi based English speaking middle class and upper class working women in matros, found that 457 had been sexually abused in their childhood and of 40% said that abuser were relative or close family friend.
It is strange enough that if sufferer tells her story,it is disbelieved or asked to keep mouth shut as family's honor is at stake.Such incidence should not be compromised. Since some parents think they had done anything out of ordinary and they are puzzled by the behaviour as physical and emotional abuse are normal where parents and guardians have unlimited powers over the child.
Two wrongs cannot make one right,both parties-child and parents should know their limits even in a close family and boundaries should not be crossed providing simple transparent ambience,basic safety skills that can help them to deal within family and strangers.

In India about one of every ten children is sexually abused at any given time and about 45000 children go missing and there are number of children run away from their houses to eacape the abuse,they face joyless homes. We cannot pretend to be normal!
