This is right.' 'This is wrong.' We make such distinctions all the time. We hardly think twice about them. But how often do we say, 'This is wrong at the moment but if only I were to do this, or that, it would all be right!' For some strange reason, too many of us equate creativity with speculation. If a leap of imagination is called for, or a change to the status quo is so much as considered, we suspect that we are dabbling in the realms of dangerous risk. Yet if you don't pursue a courageous decision, what will ever change?
What is the definition of a soul-mate? Someone whose favourite movie is the same as ours - or who likes the same music? It is always nice to discover that we have similar tastes, preferences or even traits to others. But such shared characteristics don't automatically guarantee a deep, lasting, emotional affinity. Indeed, sometimes the closest bonds are forged between the folk who have the fewest superficial points in common. It is true depth that you need to find this week. You won't discover it by looking in shallow places.
