People often confuse honesty with candour. The truth is, of course, a wonderful thing but that doesn't mean we should tell all the truth about everything to everyone all the time. There should always be discretion, discrimination and delicacy. Not all facts have to be faced. Even if they must be acknowledged, we are not obliged to spend all our days focusing on them so intently that we can see nothing else. Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth. So how ot use authority and to what extent is not a simple question.
